Song Contest Winner is...

The Jeep Patrol hat came out this evening with all the contest entrants names... And the winner is - Metal and Knit and her pal (which I am not giving away, since she does not appear to have gotten her box yet). Thanks everyone for playing! If Metal and Knit and her pal would both contact me - there are matching prize packs with the Rio Del Plata Sock yarn - 430 yards!! Shown above and a few other goodies and let me know which color you would like - both are darker then they appear in the photos - the orange being much more rusty and the brownish appearing much more black/dark navy. I hope that you are all having fun!!

I will post the next contest around the 11th of October. It will also be a pal paired contest - two players, two winners and less complicated then the second contest last round.

I have not gotten an PRGE e-mails in a bit, so it sounds like everyone is playing nice!! And the boxes that are arriving are rockin!!
Thanks for playing!!

Got it!!!

My package arrived today! It came during the Ohio State game and it must have brought me good luck because we SO won the game! I should have taken a guess who my pal was before the package arrived because I suspected it was DawnRays but since I didn't say so before, it doesn't sound so credible, does it?

Here's what she sent me:

I've got three skeins to use as I wish (2 Katia peru skeins with an alpaca/acrylic/wool mix and one very punky Noro skein). Dawn MADE me the fishbone lace cowl which is WAY cool! The stitch markers (also made by Dawn) are my very first fancy markers. I got the spiderwebby cloth and pumpkin which will stay out as Halloween is approaching. She also sent me notecards and a shower sponge which will both be put to good use. How can someone I've never met know the exact right things to send?!

With a Buckeye win and my package, I can call this a perfect day!

first package received!!

Just my luck that a package from my prge spoiler should be awaiting me when I got home from work this afternoon! Not only did I have some yummy gelato today but I also got a swap package--what more could a girl ask for??
I received some uber cool sushi stitchmarkers, a mix cd (which I can't wait to listen to on my way to work tomorrow morning), a cool lil kitty, some colinette jitterbug (which I have yet to use!!), Knitting Circles Around Socks which I have been waiting forever to get (SO glad my spoiler got it for me!), and two sock patterns. Thanks, Nicolle!!! I love everything!

Got my goodies

Hi Everyone! I got home from school yesterday to find a box from my buddy. She must have read my mind cuz there were 2 skeins of Ella Rae wool, the lys got that in recently and I wanted to try it. There were also some cute stitch markers, they are like shrinky dinks!(remember those). And flavored lip gloss in diner flavors. Some report covers which will be good for protecting my patterns. And the coolest thing I've ever seen, a szechuan scarf. It is a ball of bulky wool in a chinese food container with knitting needles sticking out of the top like chopsticks. I almost don't want to make the scarf cuz it looks so cool.

My secret buddy didn't let me know who she was but gave me some clues and I managed to figure it out. It is Imen Stitches! Thank you so much for the goodies, i can't wait to see what you send next.
OH! i almost forgot it was all packed in this really cute tote bag. I used it today for my schoolbooks.

Peace out bitches!

Song Contest

I am sorry it has taken me so long to post, life just goes by so fast sometimes before you know it the month is done.

1. Watching the Detective-Elvis Costello - For this song I chose the Lady Detective Hat. http://kneuroticknitter.blogspot.com/2008/04/sew-updates-q1.html

2. My shoes Keep Walking Back to You-elvis Costello - For this song I chose these knitted boots. http://www.diynetwork.com/diy/na_knitting/article/0,2025,DIY_14141_4259284,00.html

3.Green Shirt-Elvis Costello - And for my last song I chose this sweater. http://www.knitty.com/ISSUEfall08/PATTretrofit.html

This contest was fun, but much harder then I thought it was going to be.

contest

I finally got the emails my pal sent me - there seems to be a problem with my email provider.

And as I had a bit of time, I just finished the contest and posted on my blog - I don't have time to re-post everything here, but as my blog has been a bit neglected lately, I decided to post it there

Song Contest Entry

My Pal sent me some really interesting songs! It was definately a challenge to find some patterns to go along with them, so hopefully I have done them (and my Pal) justice!

1) Depeche Mode - People are People
This one was tricky, so here's something fun to keep you PEOPLE warm this winter!

2) Apocalyptica - I'm not Jesus
Here's the Apocalypse Tree Hoody

3) James Marsters - Smile
Because he was in Buffy the Vampire Slayer, (and because I, along with all the kids at my school LOVE the Twilight Series) I went with these Twilight Cover Socks

Enjoy!

Package #1

My fabulous pal sent me a great first package full of rockin' goodies including 3 balls of Berroco Ulra Silk in a deep red, some red current candles and stitch markers she made with her own creative fingers! Check out the photo for the rest of the loot. Thank you Shannon--You Rock!!

Where are my pals???

I have sent 2 emails to my downstream pal and didn't get an answer yet - one of them were my songs for the contest. And as I didn't hear from my upstream pal, I sent an email too (sunne gave me the eamil address) but she didn't answer.

Now I fear there is something wrong with my email

Contest Deadline?

I am still trying to find items, have 2 out fo three. Will post them tomorrow if it is not too late.
I have notice I have a package at the post office and since I am not expecting anything else I am thinking it may be from my pal, also will update that tomorrow.

Some Goodies for me

When you come home from a Monday at work that felt like it was a whole week instead of a 9 hour shift and find a parcel you didnt expect it certainly makes things better. My Punk Pal arranged for some lovely sock yarn to be sent to me from the other side od Australia. It came from Perth Western Australia and I opened it while watching the Red Bull Air race which will be there in a few weeks time. Thank you so much I love it so awesome.

Just for added interest Boss wants to say hi to you all and gives you his best Dobbie look as well.

the contest

OK... the theme for the songs that my pal gave me was running.
So for "Running with the Devil" by Van Halen I am putting it with "Running with Scissors" socks:

For "Born to Run" by Bruce Springsteen, you should wear your River Run Socks.

And... for "Run to the Hills" by Iron Maiden, you should wear your On the Run socks.

So I guess my theme back to my pal is always wear your socks while running!!!

Song Contest

It has taken me a few days to come up with the appropriate patterns for my pals songs - so here we go...

Shadowplay - Joy Division -
With this one, I went with the lore of the song - this song is about suicide and Ian Curtis who wrote the song, committed suicide by hanging - so I went with the Emilie Lace Choker.

Bela Lugosi's Dead - Bahaus
For this I went with the Wa na na na na na na na bat shawl from the Anticraft - which Kikibowns is knitting right now. It really went with the song line "White on white translucent black capes" and since Bela became famous for being a vampire - the bats just tied it all together...

Halloween - Misfits
For this one, I went with the Tesselating Skulls chart on Ravelry (free till October 1st) I see so many possibilities with this chart... And the repetition of the skulls reminds me of the repetition of the song, and really what is more Halloween then skulls...

And an extra special thanks to my pal for picking great songs that I actually knew!!
Happy KNitting!

Contest

Hi everyone, here are my songs and my picks. My pal sent me a sweater theme.

Weezer "Undone"- for this I am using my Lelah top because I am thinking of frogging it hence "if you want to destroy my sweater"

Meryn Cadell "the sweater" about wearing a sweater belonging to the guy you have a crush on.
So I chose this sweater
Beth Waters "Sweaters" I'm not sure what this song has to do with sweaters, it seems to be about saving the world so thought super hero

Competition

I'm on holiday so it's a bit half-cocked
My pal sent me
  1. Love Song The Cure So, I thought I'd knit a cushion from Domiknitrix
  2. F*ck and Run Liz Phair So, I thought I'd do socks with the chart from the anticraft F*ck Cancer
  3. Don't think Twice Mike Ness so I thought the Binary Hat from Hat Attack!

Have I done it right?

See you all around

Contest

I had some awesome songs with which to work :

"Michelle" by the Beatles
Win everyone's heart with this adorable piece, Ma Belle.

"Crystal" by Stevie Nicks
Let the Mystic Waters Lace Shawl wash over you to reveal your inner gypsy.

"Elevation", by U2
To take flight, you're gonna need one of these! Retro flying helmet

This was so much fun!

My Contest

OK, I'm swamped by life, but I don't want to miss out!

White Wedding - Billy Idol

OK, not so punk, but I'm totally in AWE of this wedding parasol that a woman in Poland crocheted!

God Save the Queen - Sex Pistols

What's more appropriate than a Knitted Tiara?

The Day The World Turned Day-Glo - The X-Ray Specs - I had to You Tube this :)

I thought it was funny there was talk of the 'acrylic road' and 'synthetic fiber' and 'rayon trees', so I decided what more fitting than a Red Heart Afghan?!

Contest Entry

I confess, I had to youtube all these songs. I knew the Foo Fighter's one, but didn't realize it was the Foo Fighter's. I'm losing my punk cred.

#1 - Avett Brothers "Die, Die, Die"
Knitty's Yorick for obvious reasons.

#2 - Foo Fighters "Best of You"
Someone got the "best" of me. This project has the most faves of all my ravelry projects, but I had to give it away b/c it didn't fit me.

#3 - Social Distortion "Untitled" (song #3 off of While Light, White Heat, White Trash)
Charlotte and Samantha
for three reasons:
The song is about friendship and the pattern is Best Friend by Kristin Goedert, and the projects are white, like the album title, and I couldn't find any untitled knitting patterns.
