Package 2 - A birthday Treat

Saturday was my Birthday and Shelvicious had a lovely surprise waiting on my doorstep!

The package was chok-full of wonderful! Halloween cocktail mixes, dish scrubbies and Mr Potato Head. A skein of K1C2 Ty-Dy Sock, a skein of Silky Malabrigo in the gorgeous color Amoroso (I'm making mittens out of that colorway in worsted Mal!). Rounding out the package are some Ferrero Rocher chocolates and a really neat bamboo needle repair kit - it includes sandpaper, beeswax and buffing flannel to touch up the needles when necessary!

Thank you so much, Vanessa! I had such a great time this round of the swap. I hope I can participate next round if it doesn't conflict with wedding timing!

Package!

My package came on Wednesday and I held off posting because she didn't reveal herself in the package. I got an email today, though, telling me it was Shelvicious :)

I got the brand-new Garrison Keillor book (I love Prairie Home Companion!), a skully notion bag and key/badge holder, skully charm, yummy lip balm and a pretty blue ball of Silky Flamme!

And dudes, the book. It's signed. Not just signed with his name. . . signed TO ME! Vanessa stood in line ON HER HONEYMOON to get the just released book and for him to sign it - and he was LATE to the signing. If that doesn't qualify as far and away the best swap partner ever, I just don't know what does!

Got it!!!

My package arrived today! It came during the Ohio State game and it must have brought me good luck because we SO won the game! I should have taken a guess who my pal was before the package arrived because I suspected it was DawnRays but since I didn't say so before, it doesn't sound so credible, does it?

Here's what she sent me:





I've got three skeins to use as I wish (2 Katia peru skeins with an alpaca/acrylic/wool mix and one very punky Noro skein). Dawn MADE me the fishbone lace cowl which is WAY cool! The stitch markers (also made by Dawn) are my very first fancy markers. I got the spiderwebby cloth and pumpkin which will stay out as Halloween is approaching. She also sent me notecards and a shower sponge which will both be put to good use. How can someone I've never met know the exact right things to send?!

With a Buckeye win and my package, I can call this a perfect day!

Got my goodies

Hi Everyone! I got home from school yesterday to find a box from my buddy. She must have read my mind cuz there were 2 skeins of Ella Rae wool, the lys got that in recently and I wanted to try it. There were also some cute stitch markers, they are like shrinky dinks!(remember those). And flavored lip gloss in diner flavors. Some report covers which will be good for protecting my patterns. And the coolest thing I've ever seen, a szechuan scarf. It is a ball of bulky wool in a chinese food container with knitting needles sticking out of the top like chopsticks. I almost don't want to make the scarf cuz it looks so cool.

My secret buddy didn't let me know who she was but gave me some clues and I managed to figure it out. It is Imen Stitches! Thank you so much for the goodies, i can't wait to see what you send next.

OH! i almost forgot it was all packed in this really cute tote bag. I used it today for my schoolbooks.

Happiness in a Box

I got my second PRGE package yesterday! First, a bit of background on how that day went. Heather had been up and down all night, we didn't get to sleep until 3am, and she didn't wake up until nearly 11 btw. I spent the morning paying bills and balancing the checkbook. Always fun. Not to mention I was missing Mr. Shad particularly badly. *sigh* Anyways, I was in a mood. Enter Super Pal! AKA Dawn. She is really a great pal, and this box couldn't have been more perfect unless she had found a way to put my hubby in there! It made me so happy that I teared up, actually. Anyone who knows me will know just how fitting these gifts were for me. Oh, and Dawn, it's okay you couldn't find the Turquoise Jeans. I love the Ingrid's Blues, the Claudia Handpainted is so soft and squooshy! Had to resist temptation to cast on! Must finish current projects! Here, have lots of delicious pictures. I didn't want to make a mosiac because then you couldn't see anything.



What you are seeing here is: a skein of Universal Deluxe Chunky Tweed in Ocean, some yummy-licious sounding hot cocoa mix (Green & Black's Maya Gold), a mug/cup in which to put that cocoa, a PotC loofah/squirter, a journal (ps, have I ever described my affinity for journals on here? I'll go find some of the ones I have...just you wait), a cheshire cat keychain (CUTE!), Claudia Handpainted in Ingrid's Blues, there was a cute little bag thing that mug was cozied into it is adorable, some iron-on patches, and temporary tattoos. I assume those last are for the crazies. If not, it's too late, I already said they could have them. :) Seriously Dawn, you rock. Thank you SOOOOOOO much!

Yummy goodness...

is how I would describe the wonderful package that ShadKitty sent to me. She hand dyed the sock yarn and the scarf is a Technicolor dream. She also knit me a hat, which I wore this morning on my walk and a necklace that is o-so-cool. There are far more pictures blog!

Package #3!!!

I got my third package today from the lovely Scarlett. I’ll try to get pictures up later in the week, when I can round up a camera that works.

In the package was a skein of Elsebeth Lavold Silky Wool in a very nice green shade, two shirts (they totally rock!!!), a great notebook, some hair pins, a bar of Ghirardelli Chocolate (yum!!!), a great card,and a tin of hand cream (that got mangled in the mail…)

ETA: I totally forgot the copy of the "Dead and Breakfast" soundtrack! The girls and I have been dancing around the house, and the Husband has ripped it to his Zune!

Sometimes You Feel Like a Nut...

and if you're one lucky gal like moi, sometimes you get an awesome package from your secret pal, and mine is the fabulous Ms. NutScraps! Look at this rockingness:


Where to begin? We have an uber-cute graphic flower notebook, some oolong tea in an awesome package, some KILLAH bamboo yarnage, a vintage yarn cutter, asian plum candies (delish!), a truly fabulous hello kitty MARSHMALLOW pop, a cool little vintage candy tin, some kind of squishy purple thing that will come in so handy on blah office days, Prozac Nation by Lauren Slater (she even checked the ole Amazon.com wishlist, y'all!! we are talking serious awesomeness here), and a funny little tapestry pillow. A delicious mish-mash of goodies, indeed that might not have been if the post office had carried out its dastardly scheme to steal muh package!

And of course, she included some more crack for muh boy... he's lolling in a nip-induced coma right now, and I am laughing at him. Thank you, thank you, thank you, Ms. Jennifer! You're awesome indeed!

Last night I received my second package from my punk pal ... the glorious, lovely, beautiful, generous, and talented Shannon H!! What's really funny is that I was her gift-er, too!

In addition to an adorable box decorated with sheep photos, I received a slew of wonderful goodness: burgundy and indigo fiber, two skeins of Cotton Classic, a pink post-it pad, three skeins of her very own handspun, a bag of specialty pasta (which will be used for a special romantic dinner with Mr. Fury), and a beautiful bracelet that she made herself, presented in a handknit bag made from her own handspun.

I'm extremely lucky to have such a fantastic pal. :-)

I got my package!!!!

The girls and I actually waited outside for the postal carrier to deliver the mail this afternoon, when this showed up.

In my package was a copy of Domiknitrix: Whip Your Knitting into Shape! I have been wanting this book for a while. Along with the book was: two bars of soap (grapefruit and tangerine! Yum!), a handknit warshrag (I so need a copy of Mason-Dixon…), a little bag of chocolate espresso beans (already being enjoyed), and a nifty post card with Satan’s Cheerleaders on it.

Hey folks!! I received my 2nd package from my pal Barb Too cool!! It's the new book by the Yarn Harlot!!! She also sent me a pretty crocheted book mark and a sweet little note letting me know who she is!! I love it!! I've been wanting this book too!!! I'm almost finished with Knitting Rules and I'm so tackling Casts Off Next!!

My Pal Elspeth is so sweet!

She sent me a card with some stitch markers in it the other day. Then yesterday I got a package with some yarn and a little photo album. She added some coffee candies too!

Package Dos!

Today I got my second PRGE package! I feel good. First, I'll let you all in on the secret of who my pal is! None other than the hostess herself, Sunne. Thanks Sunne, you've been fantastic so far, and the whole exchange has been running smoothly it seems. Ky was very excited about this whole thing, he was dancing around the table singing "whatcha got, watcha got, watcha got?!" What a haul! Handpainted Tussah Silk, a smidgen of purple merino, DPNs from size 1US - 6US, a needlecase, handmade soap, scissors, a catnip toy, a cute necklace and a little metal heart. The little metal heart made me think of this worry stone my mother used to have. Forgive the crappy pictures, as you remember, my camera died. *sniffle* I think I have a set of each of the DPNs, well except for the 4s and 5s, but you all know how rough I am on those! lol They will definitely come in handy.

I got my 2nd package too!!

I got 2 skeins of Patons wool and bamboo yarn that is really soft and changes colors at just the right time! I love the colors! They are totally ME. I also got cute stitch markers and some chocolate covered espresso beans!! Yum!

This was a wonderful suprise to come home to! Now that we are going to get more snow tomorrow, it will be nice to sit and knit with this comfy yarn!!

Got the goodies!!!

My pal rocks!!! I was worried that the mail lady got jealous and took it because I've been getting so many packages lately (yarn, cafepress stuff etc). Yay!! I just got it today!!!
